Muppet Rawk!

I just realized I never posted the Muppet Rawk illustration I did! Sheesh. Here's the piece.

Based on 'Axis Bold as Love' by the Jimi Hendrix Experience.

Be on the lookout for more Muppet Rawk!!

Oil portraits

In September, I took my first oil painting workshop with Henry Stinson. We painted 2 portraits per day. These are a couple of the ones that I thought came out OK... It was fun and very informative. I wish I'd gotten better photos, this was the best I could do at the time...

Street Fighter- Chun Li!

...kicking that punk Vega's ass... he ain't so pretty anymore!

This piece was done for the 'Street Fighter Tribute' book... including tons of cool artists like Adam Hughes, J. Scott Campbell, and more! Thanks to Dev for introducing my piece to be included! Check out the address below for samples and stuff, it's pretty cool.

S-S-Slithe

One of the villians from the Thundercats... I tend to get lost in detail, it's just so fun to noodle around sometimes...

This was, again, for our little Illustration contest we do at work.

The Scandal that Rocked Eternia!

Drawn for a goofy 'weekly' (i.e., monthly) Illustration Friday contest that we're doing at work, just for shits and giggles...

This week's topic... He-Man and the Masters of the Universe!

The Dark Knight

Mr. Green...

Because you demanded it!

Well not you, specifically, but Augie did. Some Wolverine love...

Catching up....just call me Scribbley Von Scribbleson.

Random pose... trying to loosen up.

Bullseye is a jerk.

Thor... with a big hammer to smite muthafuckaz with. I'll probably clean this sketch up (do you think it needs it? haha) and post it.

She-Hulk... much cuter than her cousin...

Puny Humans better make cool Hulk movie this time...

Cleaning out Skullbabyland

Hey all,

So I've decided to clean out Skullbabyland and make it more of a personal sketch site. Some of the other artists who've contributed great sketch work in the past may find that their entries are no longer on the site... Never fear, they're saved in a private bunker in an unknown location and will resurface on a new blog soon.

That being said, after being wildly re-excited by the work of the late great Mike Wieringo, I'm going to try to post new sketches here daily (but don't flame me if it's more like once a week...)

Viva la Skullbabyland!

Mr. Mxyzptlk having fun with gender roles....

my own addition to the Mr. Mxyzptlk contest...

Travis' "Heroes" art is now live!

Well, my "Heroes" pages are now live on the NBC.com page (http://www.nbc.com/Heroes/novels/) if you'd like to check them out.

Also, I decided to post the original pencilled pages right here! Or you can check them and other art on my portfolio website- http://thekotzebuebros.com/portfolio.html?artist=2&category=12&pg=1 (you can click on the preview images to enlarge).

A fun gig! Thanks to all you guys who checked them out!

Travis' art on NBC's 'Heroes' tonight!

Specifically, the companion 'Heroes' online comic book!

I've pencilled 3 pages in the newest 'Heroes' comic episode "Fathers and Daughters".

(Pages 1 and 2 were pencilled by a different artist, but pages 3, 4, and 5 are mine! Oh, and just skip the annoying Nissan ad at the beginning, too.)

If you have Adobe Reader installed on your machine, the quality tends to be better on the pdf (printable) version.

The comic debuts after the show tonight, so watch the episode on NBC, then go to

http://www.nbc.com/Heroes/novels/

and check out the T-Kotz pages!!!!

A portrait for my baby... Kristy and her brother Ryland.

A drawing of me and Jordan when we were kids... trying to be tough Indian warriors. This was a birthday gift for my Mom, who loves portraits of her kids (which can be a pain around Christmas, believe me. Just kidding Mom! Love ya!)

PIGGY!! Those who remember the short-lived Friday night beers around the time of Sly 3 will remember my Piggy. The Piggy Lighter, I mean.

Model sheets from a western animated short that lasted about a week.

An old zine-comic cover that i did with my buddy Jim.

Cyber-Infant. A sketch from way back that made me laugh. I used to have it up on my office door, and it always made my boss uncomfortable.

A cartoon for my buddy Lara's birthday from a few years back... I have no idea, I thought it would be funny at the time.
