DC Comics "Heroes United" poster/style guide project!

Hey all, just now getting around to posting the final art. This is the project that just wouldn't quit! It was started in 2007. For those of you who aren't familiar with the project, this is a poster commissioned by DC Comic's Creative Services department. The idea was to draw out all their main heroes in one consistent style separately, but designed so they could also be compiled into a full poster graphic (or even cobbled together in different compositions). I also added a bunch of secondary weapons and details on separate layers, to provide more versatility. Below is the final colored art, as well as some detail views.

Smodcast art

Last November, my brother Jordan and I went to a "Drink and Draw"-type event where you go draw burlesque dancers as the life models. The model was "The Chocolate Glamazon", Sydni Devereaux. She was cool. And fun to draw.

As it turned out, she voted my drawing 'Best of the Night'. That was pretty cool.

Oil portraits

In September, I took my first oil painting workshop with Henry Stinson. We painted 2 portraits per day. These are a couple of the ones that I thought came out OK... It was fun and very informative. I wish I'd gotten better photos, this was the best I could do at the time...
